Midnight Basketball Classic

The last night of Midnight Basketball was the best ever! The Slam Dunk Contest alone was worth the price of admission! If you took a good video of it, please call Joy Scott at the Shelby Star- we would like to publish it on this blog site.

Here are a few pictures from the Classic Championship and the High School Boys Division, including some of their favorite fans.

Our sincere thanks to all the wonderful supporters, coaches and volunteers who make MBB happen! You are an inspiration to the community!

More video!

Special note from Joy Scott, The Star's Interactive Editor:

As I edited Friday's night's video, I found it hard to decide what to edit out. This positive program has tons of highlights! So, I decided to create four videos instead of one.

The first video is on the last posting of this blog and under the "Local Videos" section of shelbystar.com. It's a compilation of footage from games and at all three MBB locations.

Click the name of each location below to watch raw video from Friday night. Enjoy!

Parts 2,3 and 4 are coming Saturday afternoon to this blog.

July 6, 2007

Friday night was a hot one for basketball in Cleveland County! The competition is increasing with over 220 players battling it out at our 3 locations.

The boys divisions are now full and cannot take any new players. The girls program is growing and we welcome a few more participants.

Check out the new pictures in the MBB gallery from Friday night:

Plan now to attend the MIDNIGHT BASKETBALL CLASSIC on July 27! Family and friends are invited to come out for the tournament finals and individual competitions. Details to follow.

Many thanks to our site directors (Ken Napier, Patti Hunt and Michael Lane) along with all our coaches and volunteers who make it possible!
